My name is Clarice and I am a Brazilian student at German Language School. I live in Berlin, a city that was destroyed, reconstroyed, divided and now it's one of the most amazing cities in the world because of its unique atmosphere. It's hard to imagine that in the middle of this effervescence there will be a little reminding of the ancient Berlin, with its small charming streets and secular churches. A few minutes away from the famous Alexanderplatz, there is Nikolaiviertel, the oldest part area of Berlin, where the city began.
Meu nome é Clarice e sou uma estudante brasileira na GLS Escola de alemão em Berlim. Moro em Berlim, uma cidade que foi destruída, reconstruída, dividida e hoje é uma das cidades mais incríveis do mundo por sua atmosfera única. Difícil imaginar que no meio de toda essa efervescência, há uma pequena lembrança da antiga Berlim, com suas ruas pequenas e igrejas centenárias. A poucos minutos da famosa Alexanderplatz, está Nikolaiviertel, a área mais antiga de Berlim, sendo aqui que a cidade se originou.
At the center of Nikolaiviertel, there is Nikolaikirche, the oldest church in Berlin. It was built between 1230 and 1250, and it's impressive buy it's beauty and size.
No centro do Nikolaiviertel, encontra-se a igreja Nikolaikirche, que é a igreja mais antiga de Berlim, construída entre os anos de 1230 a 1250. Sua beleza e tamanho são impressionantes.
This area was destroyed during the World War II, and it kept in ruins for years. Only in 1981, because of Berlin's 750th anniversary, the goverment of the East Germany began its reconstruction. It was only finished in 1987. Now people can have walks, drink coffee, tea or beer, and just have a good time.
Essa área foi destruída pela Segunda Guerra, e se manteve em ruínas por anos. Apenas em 1981, por conta do aniversário de 750 anos de Berlim, o governo da Alemanha Oriental começou a reconstrução, que só foi terminada em 1987. Agora as pessoas podem caminhar, beber café, chá ou cerveja e só relaxar.
Some minutes of walk away from Nikolaiviertel, there are the ruins of Franziskaner Klosterkirche, an old church that was also destroyed by the bombing during the war. Most of the times people don't notice it, but it's beautiful, calm and it worths the visit.
Há alguns minutos de caminhada de Nikolaiviertel, estão as ruínas da Franziskaner Klosterkirche, antiga igreja que também fora destruída pelos bombardeios durante a guerra. Na maioria das vezes, passa despercebida, mas é um lindo e calmo lugar que merece a visita.
