The GLS German Language School organizes several activities in Berlin every week, which take place after the German course and where you can explore Berlin together with other course participants.

Viele Highlights der Architektur in Berlin befinden sich in der Allee „Unter den Linden“. „Unter den Linden“ ist die älteste und berühmteste Allee Berlins. Sie beginnt am Brandenburger Tor und geht bis zur Schlossbrücke und Berliner Dom.
In diesem Seminar werden wir uns einige Gebäude und deren Geschichte genauer ansehen.
Passend dazu könnt ihr am Donnerstag auch an unserem City Walk Unter den Linden teilnehmen und die Highlights aus dem Seminar mit eigenen Augen sehen. Da gerade das Festival of Lights stattfindet, sind viele Gebäude auch wunderschön beleuchtet.
Many architectural highlights in Berlin are located in the avenue "Unter den Linden". "Unter den Linden" is the oldest and most famous avenue in Berlin. It starts at the Brandenburg Gate and goes to the Schlossbrücke and Berlin Cathedral.
In this seminar we will take a closer look at some of the buildings and their history.
On Thursday, you can also take part in our City Walk Unter den Linden and see the highlights from the seminar with your own eyes. As the Festival of Lights is taking place, many buildings are also beautifully illuminated.

Die Neuverfilmung von Alfred Döblins literarischem Klassiker erzählt die Geschichte des jungen Geflüchteten Francis, der nach Berlin kommt, um dort ein neues Leben in Würde zu beginnen. Als er sich aber mit dem Kriminellen Reinhold einlässt, gerät er schnell in einen Strudel aus Verbrechen und Gewalt.
The remake of Alfred Döblins literary classic tells the story of the young refugee Francis, who comes to Berlin to start a new life in dignity. But when he gets involved with the criminal Reinhold, he quickly gets caught up in a whirlwind of crime and violence.

Zu Fuß über den historischen Prachtboulevard von Berlin: Wir spazieren vorbei am Alexanderplatz, Brandenburger Tor, Staatsoper, Bebelplatz und vielen weiteren historischen Gebäuden. Und diese Woche ist dieser Stadtspaziergang ganz außergewöhnlich, weil zum Festival of Lights viele der Gebäude wunderschön illuminiert werden.

On foot along Berlin's historic boulevard: we walk past Alexanderplatz, the Brandenburg Gate, the State Opera, Bebelplatz and many other historic buildings. And this week, this city walk is very special because many of the buildings are beautifully illuminated for the Festival of Lights.

TIPP 1: Berlin Food Week
Vom 9. bis zum 15. Oktober findet in Berlin wieder die Berlin Food Week statt mit vielen Events, Restaurant-Workshops und Veranstaltungen. Das Highlight ist für die meisten das House of Food im Bikini, wo lokale Manufakturen, internationale Marken, regionale Produzenten und innovative Start-Ups ihre Neuheiten präsentieren. Dieses Jahr liegt der Fokus auf dem Thema Nachhaltigkeit mit vielen regionalen und veganen Produkten.
From 9 to 15 October, Berlin will once again host the Berlin Food Week with many events, restaurant workshops and activities. The highlight for most is the House of Food at Bikini, where local manufactories, international brands, regional producers and innovative start-ups present their new products. This year the focus is on sustainability with many regional and vegan products.

Wer Oktoberfest-Flair erleben, aber nicht nach München fahren möchte, kann das Oktoberfest am Postbahnhof in Berlin besuchen. Auch hier gibt es kühles Bier, bayrisches Essen, Musik und eine super Stimmung! Achtung: Einlass nur im Oktoberfest-Kleidung!
If you want to experience Oktoberfest flair but don't want to go to Munich, you can visit the Oktoberfest at the Postbahnhof in Berlin. Here, too, you'll find cold beer, Bavarian food, music and a great atmosphere! Attention: Admission only in Oktoberfest attire!
