These are a few snippets of my first day of exploring the area around GLS!!!
When I first arrived in Berlin on Sunday 1 April, it was wet and cold! ...and snowing! Believe it or not, what I woke up to the next day was the most beautiful blue sky. And here it contrasts with the vibrant yellow of the moving Tram.
I just love how quick and efficient the public transport here in Berlin is. At first it was confusing with the Trams, Busses, the U and S Bahn, but I got used to it. I also bought a Month Pass so I wouldn't have to worry about buying new tickets each trip. This picture is of the Eberswalder Str. U-Bahn Station.
One thing I realised quickly was that this area of Prenzlauer Berg is super safe and friendly. It is quite a 'hipster' place with modern, young families and most importantly for me... amazing places to eat!!! As I was walking, I took note of all the cool cafes, restaurants and cuisines I could try out. I was also splendidly surprised by the variety and number of vegan options available for me.

This is an elegant Church nearby, that I stumbled across. I like how the Tram lines and the tree branches intersect in this picture.
Mauer Park is right around the corner from the school, which is such an amazing thing! It's such a lovely open area for people to hang out and enjoy the sun. But what it's really famous for is its huge Sunday Flowmarkt! On a Sunday, there are just so many exciting things happening: food stalls, music, dancing, street performances, stalls to buy nice stuff and gifts, second hand stuff, and karaoke!

The German Language School in Berlin. I like how well-located it is, and how the Tram station, Schwedter Str, is right at its doorstep. I mean talk about good location. I also love how the school attracts the most diverse and interesting people from all over the globe.

My first class on Tuesday 3 April sett off my journey of learning the German language. I was starting from complete zero. The teachers only spoke German to me. But they were super friendly, patient, kind and helpful and I'm very grateful to have had them guide me through my first lessons of a new and daunting language. And from then till now, I can recognise my improvement. I can actually understand what they're saying!!
